Consideration of the Ring & Ride Service in Your Parish Precept 2015-2016
The Tavistock & District Local Transport Partnership service provides regular transport for people who have problems using conventional public transport.
The Ring and Ride minibus provides vital access to the community, to the shops, as well as contact with other people. The continuing cuts in government spending are impacting on local authority grants. The reduction ofservices in the community for the more vulnerable will increase their isolation. Any reduction in our funding will result in a reduction ofthe service that Ring and Ride can offer.
A commitment by your Parish, and the other Parishes in the Tavistock area, to include the Ring and Ride service in your precept would help to ensure that this service continues to benefit the people ofthe local community. Any contribution that your Parish can make to ensure the continuation ofour service at its current level would be greatly appreciated.
Support from your Parish is very important to us. Should you require any further information please
contact the office 01822 618028
Yours sincerely
Hannah Humphries
Ring & Ride Co-ordinator.

Planning Process Charges Dear Consultee At its meeting on 5 September 2014, Members of the Dartmoor National Park Authority agreed that a consultation exercise should be carried out regarding potential new charges for pre-application planning advice. Please find attached a copy of the report presented to Members which includes a draft charging schedule and flow diagram of how the scheme would work in practice. In addition the earlier report to Audit and Governance is also attached which provides more background information on this subject as well as the current charging schedule for West Devon and South Hams Councils. I would be grateful if you could consider the reports and charging schedule and let me have your views by 21 October 2014. In particular, I would draw your attention to the exemptions that apply where no charges are proposed. Following the consultation all comments will be considered, summarised and put before a future Authority meeting when Members will be asked to consider the way forward. If charges are to be introduced this will not happen until 1 April 2015. A detailed set of advice notes will also be drawn up to accompany any charging schedule. Please send your comments, by 21 October 2014, to [email protected] I would like to thank you in advance for responding this consultation. The decision as to whether or not charges are to be introduced, and at what level, will be taken at a Dartmoor National Park Authority meeting later this year. Yours faithfully Stephen Belli Director of Planning Encs NPA Report 5/914 Audit and Governance report 14/051 Dartmoor Proposed Charging Schedule West Devon/South Hams Charging schedule Flow diagram of procedures |

South West Resilience Campaign update
You may recall that we wrote a few weeks ago (see text below) to ask you to consider adding your support to the campaign to improve our connectivity in the South West through better road and rail links. Many of you have written to the Secretary of State (and us) to explain how improvements would help you in your daily life, business or activity and we are tremendously grateful for your assistance.
As we head towards the Autumn Statement, it’s still as important as ever to show the Government that investment into our transport network is vital. Many other areas are pressing for extra funds, and if the South West is not to lose out, we need to press our case. If you haven’t written, there’s still time and we’d be very grateful for a copy. The details are below from the original email and more information can be found on the site www.resiliencesouthwest.co.uk.

Princetown Car Park
Dear Tom, Nigel and Cathy
We have let a contract to Glendinnings for them to undertake repairs and surfacing works to the car park at Princetown ,with the works commencing on Monday morning over the next two weeks. Inevitably there will be some disruption, but we are working with the contractor with the aim of keeping this to a minimum. We are also including the staff parking areas for resurfacing and during these times it will be necessary for those working in the building to park in the public areas and display the staff permit.
Please could you advise relevant staff?
Many thanks
Andrew
PS: After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing regarding the potholes on the approach road and maintenance responsibilities, we are asking Glendinning to include these repairs as part of the car parks works. You may have notice that they have been filled as a temporary measure.
